Both send a sheet of falling water into the pool. The difference is the flame, and the gas line that feeds it.
Water Bowl
A bowl with a scupper that pours a continuous sheet of water into the pool. No gas, no burner, just water in motion over hand-cast concrete or copper.
- Continuous sheet of water into the pool
- No gas line, water feed only
- The simplest plumbing of any pool feature
- Quiet, steady, runs all day
Fire & Water Bowl
The same falling water with a flame burning above the scupper. It needs both a gas line and a water line, and it is the feature every resort pool is built around.
- Flame floating above the water scupper
- Needs a gas line and a water line
- Match lit or electronic ignition
- The resort centerpiece after dark
Four Steps to the Right Water Feature
Placement
Set bowls on the pool wall or a raised bond beam at a height that lets the water arc clear the coping. Pairs and odd numbers look best: two flanking a spa, three across a long wall. Use the Size filter to work in inches.
Plumbing
Every bowl needs a water feed sized to the scupper flow, usually run off the pool pump or a dedicated line. Fire models add a gas line, natural gas or propane. Rough in both lines before the wall is finished.
Ignition
For fire models only. Match lit needs no power and costs the least. Battery ignition gives push-button start with no wiring. Electronic ignition starts from a switch or automation panel and needs power run to the bowl.
Finish
GFRC concrete comes in a range of hand-applied colors that suit stone, plaster and tile. Copper develops a living patina over the water. Every finish here is rated for wet, sun and year-round outdoor use.
